Kasargod, Jan 3: The tenth N S Kille Award was conferred on researcher Dr P Venkatraja Puninchittaya at Badiyadka here on Saturday January 2.
Inaugurating the ceremony, writer Erya Lakshminarayan Alva said the contribution of Dr Puninchittaya towards Tulu language has been immense. “His research works would be a guiding light to the future generations,” he said.
Scholar Khandige Shyam Bhat presented the award comprising cash prize, Rs 10,000 and mementoes to Dr Puninchittaya.
Kerala Tulu Sahitya Academy member Malar Jayaram Rai presided. Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy registrar Chandrahas Rai and Kille Award Committee president Kadamajalu Subhash Rai among others were present.
The programme was organized by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy, Deshabhakta N S Kille Foundation and Badiyadka Tuluvere Ayano.
