Chikkaballapur: Man in inebriated condition cuts off brother's hand

Chikkaballapur, May 8: Two brothers fought in an intoxicated condition. In a fit of range, the elder brother severed the hand of his younger brother. This incident happened in Ramapura village in Gauribidanur taluk in the district on Thursday May 7.

The brothers involved with the incident are Krishnappa (38) and Hanumantharayappa (33). After consuming liquor, both of them had food at their home. On this occasion, the two fought with each other on who should wash the food plates. After the fight aggravated on account of the fact that both were in drunken stupor, the elder brother flashed a sickle at his younger brother. Instantly, Hanumantharayappa blocked the sickle with his left hand to save his life. The sickle chopped off his left hand which was separated from the body and deposited on the ground.

The man was provided initial treatment at the local hospital before referring him to a hospital at Bengaluru. Krishnappa escaped from the spot after the incident. Gauribidanur rural police who have registered a case are searching for the missing man.
