Udupi, Jun 26: Members from District Congress Committee, here, paid tribute to the 20 Indian soldiers who were killed at the China border in the recent Galwan Valley attack. It was held at Martyrs ground, Ajjarkad Udupi here on Friday June 26.

The members cleaned the surroundings of the Martyrs ground, sang the Vande Mataram song and offered silent prayers for the martyrs' souls.

KPCC secretary, M A Gafoor said, "It is our duty to pay our respects to them. Modi had made a statement that their sacrifice should not be let to go in vain, hence, he should reveal the truth behind the attack. 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives in the hands of the Chinese army."

He said that the Prime Minister should let the nation know the reason our soldiers had to be killed as it disturbs the integrity of the country. "Why were our soldiers killed? It is condemnable. It disturbs the integrity and unity of our nation. The whole India is standing in solidarity with their families. Prime Minister Modi should clarify the reason behind the violent attack," Gafoor said.

Satish Amin Padukere, president Block Congress Committe, Congress leaders Ramesh Kanchan, Habib Ali, Narasimha Murthy, Shashidhar, Genesh Nergi, Janardhan Bhandarkar, Bhaskar Rao Kediyur, Harish Kini, Nagesh Udyavar, Kirthiraj shetty and others were present.
