Beltangady: Lineman dies due to electrocution while repairing transformer

Beltangady, Jun 27: In a tragic incident that occurred on the morning of Saturday, June 27 at Piligoodu Hunasekatte near Kuppetti of the taluk a lineman, who was repairing the faulty transformer died due to electrocution.

The deceased is identified as Basavaraju (26), a native of Indi in Bijapur district. He was working as a lineman with Kalleri Mescom subdivision.

There was some issue in the pin of an electric pole due to the heavy rains that lashed the area on the night of Friday. Basavaraju was repairing the transformer and was working on the disc ground of the high tension wire. He died suddenly due to electric shock.

A case in this connection is registered at Uppinangady police station.

    Very sad.He was too young.other side he knew what precautions should be taken during electric repair.Some think they are experts and can do.One should be always be careful with electricity specially during rainy seasons.Better precautions than cure.Heartfelt sympathy to the family.may his soul rest in peace.
