Udupi: Aiding sale of stolen gold, court orders accuse to pay fine

Udupi, Jul 6: Additional JMFC court sentenced a person accused of aiding in the sale of stolen gold ornaments despite knowing that those were stolen.

Anil Kumar, resident of Koppa had stolen four gold bangles worth about Rs 1 lac from a cupboard, after breaking open the back door of the residential house of Nagesh Rao at Ambagilu, Puttur village on February 1, evening back in 2015.

Nagesh resident of Shikaripura, Shivamogga had helped him to sell the bangles. Both of them had spent the amount obtained after the sale. A case in this connection was registered in Udupi town police station.

The then sub-inspector Rajagopal had registered a case and Udupi circle inspector Srikanth K had investigated the case and submitted a charge sheet to the court.

Anil Kumar already confessed to the crime and underwent the punishment. While the court has ordered Manjunath to pay a fine of Rs 2,000.
