Bengaluru: Coronavirus claims sixth victim from police force in city

Bengaluru, Jul 6: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police lost his life due to coronavirus infection in the city on Monday, July 6. With this, coronavirus has claimed a total of six lives of policemen from the city.

The continuing march of coronavirus has lent support to the mounting demand for enforcing lockdown in the city again. The police, who have been working to protect people from corona infection by overlooking their own safety, are losing lives one by one.

The said ASI was part of the security department at Vidhana Soudha here. He had been found infected by this pandemic a few days back.

Already over 40 police stations in the city have been sealed down because of coronavirus infection. Out of 1,925 COVID cases registered on Sunday from the state, Bengaluru accounted for the lion's share with 1,235 infections. Coronavirus has been spreading its tentacles on all classes of people including doctors, policemen, officials and politicians.
