Kundapur: Accidental fire guts shop - Short circuit blamed

Kundapur, Jul 7: Shops located in a building, which were run by G Dinesh Nayak and G Padmanabh Nayak near the water tank of Gangolli village accidentally caught fire on the night of Monday July 6. Both the shops were turned to ashes in the fire. The loss due to this tragedy has been estimated to run into several lacs of rupees.

Fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot on getting intimation and doused the fire with the support of the local people.

It is suspected that the fire would have been caused by an electric short circuit. Gangolli police sub-inspector, Beemashankar S and Gangolli gram panchayat president, Srinivas Kharvi, reached the spot, stayed there and guided the rescue operations.
