Mangalore: Special Squad Arrests Two for Theft, Recovers Cash

The superintendent of police’s special squad, led by sub-inspector Prakash K, arrested two persons on charges of theft and recovered Rs 60,000 in cash from them on Tuesday March 2.
 
The arrested are Abdul Basheer alias Kalla Basheer (34), resident of Kallapu Kattepuni in Permannur village, and Khader Husain alias Suresh (43), resident of Kendvoor in Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, who lives on a footpath near Mangalore railway station.

Both were arrested near Kallapu petrol pump in Tokkottu, while they were behaving in a suspicious manner.
 
After interrogation, the police team found that they had stolen Rs 1,60,000 from Super Traders in Kotekar and recovered Rs 60,000 in cash from them.
 
Abdul is also wanted in theft cases at Jeppinamogaru Vaishnavidevi Temple, Mudipu Kanatthor Temple, Kudtamogeru Vishnumoorty Temple and also a ‘Masjid’ in Sullia.
 
Meanwhile, Khader has 30 cases against him in Puttur, Bantwal, and Mangalore North police stations, and has spent 11 years in jail.
 
Both the accused were handed over to Ullal police, along with the recovered cash, for further investigation.

Squad members Rama Poojary, Rajendra Prasad, Sheenappa, Chandrashekar, Girish Suvarna, Sunil Kumar, David D’Souza, Mohammad Iqbal, and Shiva Naik, participated in the operation.
