Mysuru to host 17th teachers’ seminar on 'Teaching in the Age of AI'

Mysuru, Aug 19: The 17th teachers’ seminar, focusing on the theme ‘Teaching in the Age of AI: Why Human Teachers Matter’, will be held at Pushpashrama Institute of Philosophy and Religion, R S Naidu Nagar, Mysuru, on Saturday, August 22.

The seminar will be conducted from 9 am to 1 pm at the Pushpashrama Auditorium and will explore the changing role of teachers in an era increasingly influenced by artificial intelligence.

The programme will focus on two key sub-themes — ‘Helping Students Think in the Age of AI’ and ‘Building Character in the Age of AI’.

Dr H N Vishwanath, professor (Retd) of Sarada Vilas Teachers College, Krishnamurthypuram, Mysuru, and founder and academic director of IMACT–Teacher Craft, Mysuru, will be one of the resource persons.

Dr Wilfred Rodrigues, OCD, director of Divine Springs, Goa, will also address the participants.

The seminar is intended for teachers, lecturers, professors, academicians, educationists, parents and those involved in educational and formation ministries. Formators from seminaries and religious institutions are also invited to participate.

Organisers said the seminar will provide an opportunity to reflect on how educators can help students develop critical thinking, character and human values while navigating the growing influence of AI.

A certificate of participation will be issued to registered participants. Those interested can register by sending their names via WhatsApp to 8217365110.

A nominal registration fee of Rs 250 will be collected on the day of the seminar. The fee includes tea and snacks, lunch and the certificate.

The organisers have invited those working in the Education Ministry, schools, colleges, universities, seminaries and religious institutions to participate in the programme.
