Mangalore, Mar 11: The third annual ‘Netravati – Phalguni’ Jodukare Kambala for selected pair of buffalos, will be held at Pilikula on March 13, under the joint aegis of Pilikula Nisargadhama Society and Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Kambala Samiti.

Executive director of the society, J R Lobo, informed at a press conference held here on Tuesday March 9, that competitions under various categories will be held at the Kambala, scheduled to be organized at the Bakimaru field in front of the Guttu House in the Cultural Village located in Pilikula Nisargadhama.

“For the purpose, the Guttu House surroundings will be designed on the lines of traditional village life. An attractive exhibition of Janapada items will be arranged inside the Guttu House. A stack of sheaves of hay and various other things representing cultural heritage of the region, will also be on display at the courtyard of the house. Exhibition of photos and paintings under the guidance of Nikhil Shetty, exhibition of the ‘cock-fight’ hens, traditional village market and stalls etc., will be the added attractions at the Kambala,” Lobo explained.

Dr Vaman Nandavar,  Kambala Samiti president, Dr Jeevandhar Ballal and M G Mohan were present at the press conference.
