Kaup, Aug 24: In an accident which happened at Uchila near here on the night of Saturday, August 22, a motorbike rider was killed after his two-wheeler smashed against a barricade.
The unfortunate victim of this accident, Ashith U Shetty (32), was moving towards Udupi from Mangaluru in his motorbike on Saturday night. It is said that his vehicle smashed against road barricades which were kept by the roadside at Paniyoor junction in Uchila on national highway 66.
Ashith who was tossed to the road, as a result, suffered serious injuries. The locals made arrangements to shift him to a private hospital at Udupi. But the doctors confirmed that he had breathed his last.
A case in this connection was registered in Padubidri police station.
