BMC data reveals Covid fatality rate high in 80-89 age group in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 28: As per the data by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) of every 100 coronavirus patients above 50 years of age, 10 people succumb to the infection in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the most vulnerable age group is 80-89 where the fatality rate is at 21.2%, followed by the 70-79 age group which is at 15.81%.

It was also observed that the rate of children below 9 years succumbing to the infection was lower and stood at 0.49%
