Bantwal, Aug 29: Srinivas Achar (73), former president of All India areca growers association, editor and publisher of ‘Adike’, magazine passed away in a private hospital in Mangaluru in the morning on August 29. He has left behind wife, two children and a large number of friends and relatives.

His friend following is large. He had opened a small museum of old articles on a side of his residence. He used to collect information from inside and outside the country. He had started ‘Pulli Sangha’ for his family members. He used to publish three newspapers. His father Manchi Narayan Achar had contributed for the development of Manchi.

He was active in Rangabhoomika trust and cooperative societies and had tried new experiments of cultivation.
