Bantwal: Tipper lorry hits, breaks light pole

Bantwal, Aug 29: In a unfortunate incident, a tipper lorry hit a light pole while reversing the vehicle at Bhandaribettu here on Friday night. As a result, the pole broke.

The vehicle was brought down in reverse near Vatsi residency to turn, but it hit the light pole as it skid without being able to climb up.

As the light pole had the support of another light pole, the cable did not fall on the lorry averting danger.

Local people said that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Mescom officials arrived on Saturday morning and removed the pole. Local people have alleged that the inner roads are in bad condition due to highway works.
