Bantwal: Suspected thief arrested while trying to dispose of loot

Bantwal, Aug 31: Rural police personnel here have arrested near Ramal Katte bus stand on Monday, a suspected thief while he was trying to sell items stolen by him.

Bengre Kasba, Mangaluru resident Mohammed Ansar is the arrested suspect. The Bantwal rural police who conducted a raid on a tip-off, arrested the suspect when he was trying to sell the stolen items to a shop at Ramal Katte.

On August 25, grocery and cash worth Rs 25,000 were stolen from Farangipete supermarket. A complaint of the theft was registered at Bantwal rural police station.

The arrest was made within four days of lodging a complaint. Police personnel also recovered the stolen items.

The operation was conducted under directions from Bantwal DSP Valentine D’Souza, in the leadership of Bantwal police circle inspector T D Nagaraj by rural crime division SI Sanjiva K A, SI Balakrishna, staff Radhakrishna, Suresh, Puneet, Gonibasappa, Kumara and Vivek.

    Shame on these kind of theives. They don't work and they loot people or their daily savings and if required even will be ready for killing people. No self respect for such goons. Such people are many in and around Dakshina kannad distict. Police need to be more cautious not to wait for any concrete evidence of the offenders but also action on time during spot crime.
