Four Shiv Sena leaders arrested for assaulting retired Navy officer in Mumbai

Mumbai, Sep 12: Four Shiv Sena were arrested in connection to an attack on a retired Navy officer, informed Mumbai police.

An FIR had been registered in Samta Nagar Police Station, Mumbai against Kamlesh Kadam and his 8-10 associates for beating up a former Navy officer.

It may be recalled, Madan Sharma, a 62-year-old retired Navy officer, was beaten up by alleged Shiv Sena workers after he forwarded a cartoon on Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray on WhatsApp on Friday. He was attacked in Lokhandwala Complex area in suburban Kandivali.

Speaking to media, Madan Sharma told that he was attacked by 8 to 10 people after he received threatening calls for a message that he had forwarded. “I have worked for the nation my entire life. A government like this should not exist,” he said.

    By this violent and inhuman act, the SS has shown great disrespect not only to a senior citizen and a retired officer of the armed forces, but also to a cartoonist in him. They should have remembered that their party’s founder, late Balasaheb Thackeray also started his career as a cartoonist.

    I don't support Shiv Sena and strongly condemn this act. Infact I condemn violence in any form.

    All of the people opposing Shiv Sena goons today on this forum are the same people who supported Shiv Sena when they beat up UP and Bihari Migrants in 2008.
