Udupi, Oct 7: The lifeless body of a fisherman who slipped, fell from the fishing boat and drowned in the sea here on the night on October 5 was found in the afternoon of October 6.

Five fishermen had gone fishing on behalf of Katpady Sadananda Kanchan in a fishing boat named Sindhoora Ganapathi No IND KA-02-4028. Meanwhile, Ganesha(42), a fisherman among them who was tying the fishing net accidentally slipped and fell into the water at Malpe Bapu Thota 3rd stage fishing deck. He drowned and was missing.

His dead body was found floating near the deck where he fell on October 6 at about 2.30 pm.

A case in this connection is registered under UDR No 520/2020 section 174 CRPC on the basis of a complaint received on October 5 at 9 pm from Keshava Durgappa Mogera (41), one of the fishermen on the boat residing in Bhatkal Heble village, Uttara Kannada district.
