Mangaluru: First project of 'AIMDF-JEEVA' in zero traffic zone ferries 60-day-old baby

Mangaluru, Oct 8: A 60-day-old baby boy battling from kidney and heart disease was brought from Shivamogga to Mangalore via zero traffic.

All India Muslim Development Forum (AIMDF) ICU on wheels ambulance fitted with ventilator and cardiac care ferried Syed Nauman, the baby with Kidney and heart issue in a span of 2 hours 55 mins covering a distance of 350 km. Due to blockage at Agumbe ghat the ambulance was diverted and headed from Chickmanglore.

The vehicle had departed from Sarji Hospital Shivamogga at 11:45 noon and reached Mangalore Wenlock Hospital at 2:40 pm.

Baby Syed Nauman is suffering from Medium Chain Acyl CoA Dehydrogenase deficiency a rare disease found in one in 100 new born child.

After reaching Mangalore the baby was shifted on ventilator and needs to undergo a surgery.

Zeeshan Asad AIMDF-JEEVA ambulance driver was praised for his unique gesture for ferrying the sick baby free of cost. Once he reached the hospital in Mangalore, he was felicitated by the people. As the news of ambulance ferrying a sick baby between two cities went viral on social media, public paved way for the ambulance throughout the journey.

AIMDF chair board decided to make the treatment of the baby free of cost and handed over the hospital charge to AIMDF Dakshina Kannada President Asif Chokkabettu.

AIMDF national spokesperson Shaikh Muzaffer from UAE thanked Karnataka State Police and the public for making zero traffic.

During the journey the entire chair board team of AIMDF were present and the team comprised of Shakeel Hassan - founder president, Naseer Ahmed - Karnataka State president, Amjad Pasha - Karnataka State general secretary, Abubaker Sajipa- Karnataka State working president, Abdul Rahim - vice president, Shaukat Ali - secretary, Nazeer Mulla - treasurer, Kalandar- vice president, Kasim Patel - vice president, Danish - Karnataka State IT cell head.

Hashir Perimar and Ashtar Bantwal were also present along with the team.
