Mangaluru, Oct 9: “A secret organization in North India instigates Dalit community to take part in unrests. The government there which supports them should be opposed,” said Janwadi women’s organization Ullal zone president Nalinakshi G Shetty. She was speaking at the protests by Janwadi women’s organization and the committee of Dalit rights near Thokkottu bus stand on Thursday against Yogi Government in Uttar Pradesh which they said is supporting accused men in Hathras incident.

“Rapes are occurring regularly in North India. An organization there is functioning secretly. People belonging to other religions rape Dalit women, persuade or maintain a relationship with them and the child born to her is grown as anti-Dalit. The secret organization functions widely in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. It should be banned,” she said.

“Police personnel in Hathras have forgotten humanity when they denied the body of the victim to her parents. The government there should think if it is the culture to cremate the body without giving it to the parents. Wake up before such culture of North India comes to South India.”

Janwadi women’s organization district leader Padmavathi Shetty said that Modi who says Beti Padao, Beti Bachao should be ashamed in Hathras incident. “We boycott the Uttar Pradesh police department,” she said.

Janwadi district leader Vilasini Thokkottu, secretary Saumya Pilar, Krishnappa Salian, Jayanth Naik Babu Pilar, Sunder Kumpala, Rohidas Bhatnagar and others were present.

Dalit leader Rohidas Abbanjara welcomed. Narayana Talapady rendered the vote of thanks.
