Bengaluru: Meteorological department predicts heavy rain in interior districts of Karnataka

Bengaluru, Oct 10: The meteorological department has predicted heavy rainfall in interior districts of Karnataka beginning Saturday October 10, as bearing winds are expected to hit the east coast of the country.

Due to the depression over the Bay of Bengal, many places in Dakshina Kannada district received rain on Friday. The city received rain in the early hours of Friday. There was some rainfall on Friday too. During the day ended 8.30 am on Friday, Mangaluru received 7 cm rain while Subrahmanya got five cm. Bilinele in Puttur taluk received heavy rainfall on Friday.

Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadagiri, Raichur, Ballari, Chitradurga, Tumakuru and Chikkaballapur districts are likely to get widespread rainfall on Saturday. In addition to these districts, Vijayaura, Bagalkot, Kolar, Bengaluru city, rural, and Malnad districts are predicted to get heavy rainfall on Sunday. Therefore, the department has announced yellow alert for these districts.
