Kundapur: Coastal security force detects bull trawl fishing, files report

Kundapur, Oct 12: The coastal security police force stationed at Gangolli has detected six boats that were engaged in undertaking bull trawl fishing, which has been banned by the government. This activity was detected on Saturday, October 10 evening near Maravanthe seashore.

The force has sent a report to the fisheries department to enable it to initiate action against the erring boats. It is learnt that the boats named in the complaint are based in Kodi and Gangolli.

The operation was guided by Sandeep, sub-inspector of the coastal security force.
