Brahmavar, Oct 12: Veteran writer, Ambatanaya Mudrady, stressed the view that the media should always aim at blooming or achieving positive results and not incite people.

He was speaking after handing over the award at the Vaddarse Raghuram Shetty journalism award at a function held at Buntara Bhavan Brahmavar on Sunday October 11 under the aegis of Brahmavar Taluk Journalists Union.

"Love, trust and unity are the core requirements of journalism. Newspapers are very much necessary to strengthen awareness among the people," he stated.

In his keynote address, advocate and social activist, Sudheer Kumar Murolli, said that the newspapers should achieve reforms in the people. "Journalists should have an attachment with literature at least to some extent. If they balance personal life with social services, success is assured," he felt.

 

 

On this occasion, floral tributes were paid to the picture of Vaddarse Raghuram Shetty. Gangadhar Hiregutti, the editor of 'Karavali Munjavu' publication, was conferred with Vaddarse Raghuram Shetty Award.

Taluk Journalists Union president, Chittur Prabhakar Acharya, presided over the function. Brahmvavar taluk panchayat president, Jyothi Uday Poojary, and Dakshina Kannada and Udupi District Fisheries Marketing Federation president, Yashpal Suvarna, were present.

Secretary of the union, Rajesh Ganiga Achlady, welcomed the gathering. Convener, Vasant Giliyar, delivered the introductory address. Altar Nagaraj proposed the vote of thanks. Chandrashekhar Beejady compered the programme. Later, 'Hali Hambl' fame team of Kalachiguru team presented an entertainment programme, 'Hway Banni Negyadwa' and musical extravaganza.
