Udupi, Oct 12: “Pressure of work is normal in all the government departments and it is necessary to adopt the practice of speedy work,” said deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.

He spoke as chief guest in a programme held at taluk panchayat auditorium by panchayat development officers to bid farewell to Preethi Gehlot, district panchayat chief executive officer who was transferred. “The contribution by Preethi Geylot for cleanliness and waste management in the district is memorable. She has worked in coordination with COVID-19 management,” he said.

Outgoing district panchayat, CEO Preethi Gehlot commended the work of panchayat development officers for the success of all the projects. “Udupi district has an environment that is conducive for performance and is a model in the state for the implementation of programmes,” she said.

District panchayat new CEO Navin Bhat said that he will try to make the success of Udupi even better with the cooperation of all the officials.

The outgoing CEO was felicitated by PDO association and panchayatraj employees welfare association.

Panchayat Development Officers Association president Manjunath Shetty, district panchayat assistant secretary Kiran Padnekar, chief project officer Srinivas Rao, chief accounts officer K G Bhat, project director Gurudat, Udupi taluk panchayat executive officer Mohan Raj, panchayat development officer and staff, RDPR association office bearers were at the programme. Sathish welcomed the gathering. PDO Mahesh compered the programme and rendered the vote of thanks.
