Bantwal: Karinja temple barrier wall collapses in heavy rain

Bantwal, Oct 14: The barrier wall of historical Mahotabhara Karinjeshwara temple in the taluk has collapsed in two-day long incessant rain.

The wall raised out of stones on the left side of the temple has collapsed. The damage was noticed by the temple staff on Wednesday morning.

The interlocks of the courtyard adjacent to the wall where monkeys are being fed have come out. The temple is constructed on huge rock on the hill and has a history of ages. There is a mound of stone and mud below the part which has come out. Management official Nonayya Naik has said that the temple is not damaged. He said that the repairs will be taken up after obtaining the opinion of experts.
