Udupi: ISKCON distributes food kits to 300 health care workers

Udupi, Oct 14: “Covid-19 virus is like an enemy of the country. It may disrupt internal and external peace and security. Health warriors are like soldiers. We need to be making them strong internally and externally. For that we need to strengthen the health warriors, who are working day night against virus’, said ISKCON secretary Sanandana Dasa Swamiji.

He said during the food kits distribution programme organized by International Society for Krishna Consciousness Mangaluru (ISKCON), held at Circuit House, Bannanje, here on Wednesday, October 14.

District surgeon Madhusudhan Nayak speaking on the occasion said that, "Many health warriors were infected for covid during service. Many people have suffered. Some nurses recovered and resumed their work after the treatment for Covid.

Earlier the government has appointed 45 staff specially for Covid management which includes 10 doctors, 20 staff nurses, five lab technicians and ten group D workers. Recently the government has appointed additional 29 staff nurses and group D employees for two taluk hospitals.

Health warriors are set to fight against Covid. It is expected that Covid number has reached its peak and hope that it will come under control at earliest, said district surgeon.

Food kits were distributed to around 300 health warriors today.

Rashmi Bhat, Harish, personal assistant, Subraya Acharya, Vasudeva Bhat, Rada Das, chief of Mahila Santvana Kendra were present in the programme.
