Bantwal, Oct 14: Torrential rain in the taluk during the last two days has caused widespread destruction. While a one acre wide farm belonging to Krishnamoorthy in Kedila has been inundated, a paddy field of Sesappa Moolya was also destroyed. A hill near Abbettu caved on the road causing traffic issues. The residents of a house in Balthila village belonging to Vanajakshi had to be shifted as the wall of their house collapsed.

The houses of Ashraf in Sajipamunnur village, houses and surroundings of Hoovayya Poojary and Harischandra in Meramajalu were also damaged. Netravati river is flowing at a level of 6.2 metres while the danger level is 8.5 metres
