Bengaluru, Oct 15: The government has come out with special guidelines for the celebration of Dasara and Deepavali in a simple way. In spite of worrying coronavirus situation, celebration is allowed as a measure of allowing traditions to continue.

The conditions are that not more than a hundred people can assemble at functions. Wearing of masks is mandatory and celebrations should ensure that law and order situation is not adversely affected and peace, harmony and coexistence should be stressed. Even for Durga Puja this condition applies. The authorities concerned have to regularly implement the precautionary measures without fail and it is compulsory for the people to follow the instructions and directions that may be issued by the health department, district administration and concerned departments from time to time.

Deepavali: For Deepavali celebrations from November 14 to 17, the festival should be celebrated in a simple way without causing noise pollution. Licences are mandatory for sale of firecrackers, and crackers stalls should be established in open places or grounds away from residential localities, and air should freely circulate on both sides of the shops. Distance of six metres has to be maintained between stalls. Licence should be exhibited prominently for the public to see. Spraying of sanitizers around the stalls, thermal scanning, social distancing and wearing of masks are mandatory.
