Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Oct 15: The roads of the city are crowded with cars, buses, auto rickshaws and motorbikes apart from heavy vehicles. Under these circumstances, if dedicated cycle lanes are provided it will no doubt be helpful for the bicycle lovers.

An effort is being made to make eco-friendly bicycle rides popular again. If this initiative has to succeed, people should participate in the online survey in large numbers. Depending on the response of the citizens, the fate of the project will be decided.

Cycle4change is a campaign in which an effort is being made to make every city bicycle-friendly. For that, bicycle riders are being encouraged. The city corporation here, along with the district administration and Mangaluru Smart City, have undertaken this initiative. Already separate cycle lanes have been identified. But response of the people is very much important for the future of the plan. Participation of the people in the survey is the need of the hour.

A map should be provided to the central government after duly listing out areas where these tracks can be created and which areas are best suited for these tracks. Mangaluru Smart City has already commenced the survey. The people can click on the web link, answer the questions and provide their response.
