Udupi: Mortal remains of Kerala origin fisherman found in Malpe fish port

Udupi, Oct 16: Mortal remains of a fisherman, who fell into the sea from the boat due to slipping of legs on the night of October 14 at Malpe Baputhota anchoring point, was found on the afternoon of October 15 at Soopi anchoring point of Malpe fishing port.

The deceased is identified as Saju (45), who was in the boat with Gratius (34), Paisus, Anto, Aji and Baiju, which started fishing from the Monamba fishing port in the state of Kerala on September 25. They had anchored their boat at Malpe Baputhota due to high-velocity winds in the sea on October 12.

Saju fell into the sea from the boat at around 11.30 pm on October 14. Though the others in the boat tried to trace his body, they could not locate it. Then Gratius, who is the captain of the group reported the matter to the police. The body of deceased Saju was found on October 15 in the afternoon.

A case in this regard is registered in Malpe police station.
