Udupi: Fisherman slips from anchored boat, dies

Udupi, Oct 17: A man died when he got slipped from the boat that was anchored at Babuthota anchorage point and fell into the sea.

The deceased is identified as John L. He and other 18 fishermen had left Tamil Nadu for fishing. Due to inclement weather they had parked their boat at Babuthota anchorage on October 12.

On October 14, at around 6.30 pm, John had gone to the backside of the boat where the hand pump is fixed to drink water. He fell into the sea and disappeared. His mortal remains were found at 8 pm of October 15 at the same place where he fell.

A case in this connection is registered in Malpe police station.
