Mangaluru, Oct 17: MLA U T Khader said, "The government has created a lot of confusion regarding education during this pandemic.”

Addressing media here on Saturday October 17, Khader said, "Proper decisions have not been taken, guidelines have not been issued, and confusing statements by ministers, has led to confusion among students, educational institutions’ managements, parents and teachers. The government has neglected the education department for which they should answer the public.

“The situation of teachers is not good as without any option they are into other professions. The government should at least inform about the syllabus. Whether the board exams will be conducted or not. Due to the pandemic, the government kept postponing the dates of exams and at the last moment they announced the dates due to which students did not get enough time for revision.

'Why the government cannot think about the condition of teachers? They have forgotten about the welfare of people and are ruling the nation. The government should conduct meeting to bring in clear cut education policy during this pandemic.

“The government should hold a discussion involving district in-charge minister, member of parliament, mines and geology officials, sand associations to resolve sand issue in the district. Dakshina Kannada district is facing acute shortage of sand since one year which has affected the labour force. Why the government is not able to understand the pain of common man?” he questioned.

When asked about red bauxite mining, Khader said, "We had asked the deputy commissioner to bifurcate which is legal and which is illegal. Those who are illegal, take action against it. This shows the failure of the district administration and the ruling government.

District Youth Congress president Mithun Rai, district Congress president Harish Kumar, former MLA J R Lobo and others were present.
