Beltangady, Oct 19: A woman identified as Rabiyat from Pandikatte in Charmadi village in the taluk had consumed poison. She had been admitted in serious condition into the government Wenlock Hospital at Mangaluru. Not responding to treatment she breathed her last on October 16.
It is said that Rabiyar had married Babul Saheb sometime back. Thereafter, Saheb reportedly inflicted physical and mental torture to his wife. On October 12, Saheb had fought with his wife and left home in a huff. Frustrated by his behaviour, Raiyat is said to have consumed poison on October 14.
