Mandya: Parents search for daughter five years after intercaste marriage

Mandya, Oct 21: The parents of a girl have approached the police here and also the state women's commission seeking to find their daughter who had entered an intercaste marriage five years back against the stiff opposition of parents and relatives.

In a rare case, the parents have sought the help of authorities after remaining mum for five years. Meghashree belonging to a Dalit family, daughter of Mahadevayya from Nanjegowdana Doddi village of Malavalli taluk in the district had married T K Sway from Tirumalapura village in Pandavapura taluk in the year 2015. The parents had cut off all contacts with her thereafter.

After a gap of five years, the parents of the girl went to meet their daughter but came to know that she had gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

The girl's parents have suspected that their daughter to be murdered by Swami and his family members on account of strong opposition by the close ones for the inter-caste marriage.
