Bengaluru: Fraudsters disguising as customers steal cash, ornament

Bengaluru, Oct 26: Miscreants disguising as customers visited a shop and succeeded in diverting the owner's attention and stealing cash and ornament.

Manju, resident of Kempegowda Nagar here was cheated in this way. On the basis of a complaint made by her, the police have registered a case.

Manju has a shop dealing in chemicals at Kempegowda Nagar main road. Two persons approached her shop at 12.30 pm on October 10 and sought to buy a cleaning solution. When she wanted to know how many litres he needed, he said he will contact his family and let her know. In the meantime, his companion asked for five brooms. When the lady went in to bring the brooms, the two escaped after opening the cash box and taking Rs 8,000 in cash and a 20 grams gold ring.

The police who registered the case have checked CCTV camera footage in the area and noted the facial features of the thieves. They said they are trying to arrest the duo.
