Kundapur, Oct 31: The body of an entrepreneur who had left by car for the stated purpose of visiting temple town, Dharmasthala, was found from River Sowparnika. The victim happened to be M P Madhu (40).

Madhu was operating a diesel bunk at Nelamangala on contract basis for five years. On Wednesday, he had left his home in his car, telling his family that he would return after visiting Dharmasthala.

It appears that Madhu would have changed his mind, reached Hosadu via Karkala and Udupi, parked his car near Arate bridge, and jumped into Sowparnika river from over the bridge. His body was found from the river at Senapura village on Thursday October 29. When an unidentified car found parked near the Arate bridge was verified, Madhu was identified through a mobile phone found inside.

It is said that Madhu had given diesel and petrol on credit basis to many people and was distressed as he was unable to recover the money. Because of financial constraints faced in business, it is believed, he would have taken a decision to end his life. Madhu is survived by wife and a 15-year-old son. The body, after post mortem, was handed over to relatives on Friday. A case was registered in Gangolli police station.
