Bengaluru, Nov 4: Central crime branch (CCB) police have been searching for former mayor of the city, R Sampath Raj, who has been accused of causing the DJ Halli and KG Halli arson and riots and who has evaded arrest so far. The police officers have also been questioning the close relatives of Sampath Raj.

They have already questioned several doctors of a private hospital in the city where Sampath Raj had been treated.

The doctors and Sampath Raj's relatives who arrived at the CCB office at Chamarajpet were questioned for about five hours. The statements of the doctors, it is said, were not cohesive. Therefore, the CCB sources said they have told the doctors that if necessary they would be summoned again.

Brother-in-law of Sampath Raj, Balasubrahmanya, and others were subjected to interrogation. It is said that when Sampath Raj was in the hospital, Balasubrahmanya had given him company. CCB sources said that details of all the family members and their telephone numbers have been collected.
