Bantwal: Husband follows wife in death hours apart

Bantwal, Nov 4: In an incident which happend at Ballur Watepadpu near Bayaru, Vittal in the taluk on Monday November 2, the husband died a few minutes after the mortal remains of his wife was brought home.

Govinda Bhat was a farmer and expert cook from Watepadpu, Paivalke. His wife, Devaki (75) was sick for the last some weeks. She was admitted in a hospital at Puttur on October 22. On November 2, she breathed her last not responding to treatments. Her body was taken home for the funeral.

Govinda Bhat who had a glimpse of the body, poured water into the mouth of the lady as is customary among the Hindus. In a few minutes thereafter, he passed away due to heart attck. He is survived by a son and six daughters.
