Bengaluru, Nov 13: The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) has welcomed the state government’s decision of reduction in registration fee from 5% to 3% for industrial lands and apartments costing less than Rs 20 lac.

"This decision of the state government taken by chief minister B S Yediyurappa is in tune with the AtmaNirbhar Package 3.0 announced by finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Thursday,’’ said FKCCI president Perikal M Sundar.

In a statement released on Friday, the FKCCI president said the state government’s move would help the real estate sector and establishment of new industries.

"This is definitely a promise fulfilled by the state government, which was announced in the budget for 2020-21 and also a pro-active step towards implementation of new industrial Policy 2020-25,’’ he said.

He also congratulated the state government for deciding to establish an Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Technologies (ART) Park in Bengaluru, which is another feather in the cap of the silicon city.

The state government has also released its new IT Policy 2020-25, which aims at taking IT beyond Bengaluru and would help in development of tier-II cities.

The new IT Policy aims at developing the IT knowledge across the state to enable India to achieve the target of becoming a trillion dollar digital economy. Further, the IT Policy 2020-25, which focuses on supporting holistic development of infrastructure, markets, ecosystem along with ease of doing business, is a welcome sign, he added.
