Moodbidri: Illegal cattle transportation - Five animals rescued

Moodbidri, Nov 27: The local police intercepted a car in which cattle were being transported illegally. They rescued five cows. Two men who were in the car escaped before they could be taken into custody. This incident happened on Thursday, November 26.

The car was moving at high speed towards Beltangady from Karkala via Moodbidri when the policemen signalled it to stop after developing suspicion, at the crossroad next to Bajaj showroom in the town. The accused stopped the car and fled.

The police who checked the car found that five cows were stuffed into the congested space inside the car in a violent manner. A case about the incident was registered in the town police station. The investigation has been taken up.
