Kundapur, Nov 28: “Members and people wish that the general meeting of Byndoor taluk panchayat should be held in Byndoor itself. But complete authority is not transferred to the panchayat. There are no basic facilities. Holding the meeting in a private auditorium is bad for the prestige and honour of the taluk panchayat. Therefore, the meeting is being held inevitably in Kundapur taluk panchayat auditorium considering the need to preserve secrecy and sanctity,” said Mahendra Poojary, president of Byndoor taluk panchayat speaking in the meeting.

Member Jagadish Devadiga responding to it said that years have passed since the formation of the panchayat and the president was elected three months ago. BJP is ruling from the village level to the centre. But the inability to transform the taluk panchayat as a model is laughable. Failure to release the 15th finance package is unfortunate. Basic facilities to Byndoor also have not been done. When discussions over auditorium to town panchayat are in progress, a step-motherly attitude is being followed in this matter. If the Congress party was in power in the state, we would have campaigned and provided necessary facilities,” he said.

Member Girija Kharvi said that ration rice has not been distributed in Paduvari gram panchayat since the last one month. President Mahendra Poojary asked officials to solve technical issues and distribute the rice to the concerned people.

Pushparaja Shetty said that the ration should be distributed again on Monday. Vice president Malini said that the mini bridge had broken three months ago but temporary arrangements for travel have not been undertaken yet. “Immediate action should be taken in this direction,” she said.

District health officer answered questions relating to Kundapur taluk hospital medical officer. The members, who were not content with his answer, said that the matter relating to the temple in the hospital premises should be reviewed again.

Pravin Shetty asked if only doctors can park their car in Kundapur government hospital premises. Mahendra Poojary asked why restrictions relating to the entry of corona warriors in the doctor’s office were not brought to the notice of senior officers.

The president asked to form Aarogya Raksha Samithi in Byndoor hospital immediately. Discussions on approving a dialysis machine for Byndoor community health centre was also held. The president took to task the officers who did not set aside land for soldiers. He asked if work against illegal mining, (DC) Manna land and acquisition of government land is conducted.

Pushparaj Shetty said that the tahsildar had said in a previous meeting that a pension Adalat will be held in Byndoor. “Elected representatives should be present in the Adalat as there are several problems relating to pensions now. Some people are not receiving widow pension and Sandhya Suraksha for the last 10 months,” said Malini K.

Taluk panchayat vice president Malini K, social justice committee president Pushparaja Shetty and executive Bharati were present.
