Bantwal: Tahsildar raids illegal quarry - confiscates machinery

Bantwal, Nov 30: Under instructions from the deputy commissioner, Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R raided a laterite stone quarry that was illegally operating at Bambila Kepugudde in Amtady village in the taluk on Sunday, November 29. The raid was conducted on the basis of reliable information about the functioning of an illegal quarry there.

Revenue officials supported the raid. Two cutting machines which were used to slice away stones, a tiller and other things worth lacs of rupees were seized by the officials during the raid.

Bantwal revenue inspector Naveen Banjanapadavu, village accountant Amritanshu, panchayat development officer Ravi, secretary, Laxminarayan and others took part in the raid.
