Mangaluru: Man blackmailed with morphed obscene photos, complaint filed

Mangaluru, Nov 30: A complaint has been filed in the cyber police station in the city, claiming that a person was threatened to part with Rs 1.8 lac by sending obscene photos on Facebook.

A person from the city had received friend request from the Facebook account standing in the name of Ayanthika Jain. As soon as the request was accepted, the person concerned made WhatsApp video call. As soon as the call was received, the complainant’s face was captured by the camera and morphed obscene videos with the man's face were sent to his WhatsApp number from different mobile numbers.

He also received WhatsApp calls demanding money failing which they threatened to upload the same in social media.

The complainant said that by threatening him, the callers collected Rs 1.8 lac on different dates.
