Bengaluru: Santosh criticizes Shivakumar for trying to politicize his hospitalization

Bengaluru, Dec 1: Chief minister B S Yediyurappa's political secretary N R Santosh clarified that he was not in any sort of political pressure and that his hospitalization was purely on account of accidental consumption of high dosage tablet.

He said no one had brought pressure on him to resign. About the controversial video referred by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president D K Shivakumar he recalled that Shivakumar had made similar allegations in the past when the Central Bureau of Investigation and income tax department raided his house. He said that on that occasion, Shivakumar had claimed in the presence of the media persons that Santosh has a secret diary and wondered why it is not being investigated.

It is learnt that Sadashiva Nagar police had mentioned in the first information report that Santosh had consumed 12 sleeping pllls of 0.5 mg strength on the night of November 27 as per a statement made by Jahnavi, wife of Santosh. The police said they will consider the statement made issued by Santosh to the media.

Reacting to the incident, Shivakumar said truth will come out if a detailed probe is conducted. He said that Santosh has been made to issue this statement because of political reasons. He pointed out that Santosh's wife had talked about suicide attempt, and therefore felt that investigation has to be conducted without fail.
