Kasargod: Senior citizen scales mobile tower - threatens to jump

Kasargod, Dec 1: A senior citizen scaled a mobile tower locaated near the bus stand at Badiadka in the district on Monday, November 30. He was skillfully convinced to come down by the revenue divisional officer there.

Mohandas (71) from Nelyadka, Narampady went up the mobile tower early morning on Monday. He then started to threaten to jump down to his doom. Fire brigade and police personnel reached the spot and made their best efforts to dissuade the old man from committing suicide. But Mohandas remained unmoved.

Later, on coming to know of the incident, local revenue divisional officer B J Slhamsuddin reached the spot. He spoke to Mohandas by using the loudspeaker for some time. In course of time, the man regained his common sense and agreed to come down.
