Udupi, Dec 1: “Election officials and assistant election officials deployed for gram panchayat elections that will be held in two stages should make sure that election code of conduct is not violated at any cost,” said deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.

He was speaking after presiding over a training meeting for election officials and assistant officials held in district panchayat auditorium on Tuesday, December 1.

“The guidelines laid down by the election commission for free, transparent and just elections should be followed. The election officers and assistant election officers should realize their responsibilities and work without giving room for violation of moral code of conduct,” he said.

He urged officials to observe the guidelines released by the election commission from time to time.

The DC directed the district panchayat CEO to provide facilities for election officers to open an office in the gram panchayats assigned to them and make arrangements for them to perform their duties.

Additional DC Sadashiva Prabhu was present. District master trainers Ashok Kamath and O R Prakash gave training.
