Mangaluru: Train resumes via Shravanabelagola

Mangaluru, Dec 3: Train service to Bengaluru from the city central railway station via Kunigal and Shravanabelagola which is a faster route has begun. The train moves on this route on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

This train operation had been stopped due to coronavirus pandemic. The train service from the city to Bengaluru via Mysuru has already been running. The train via Shravanabelagola is likely to begin its journey from Saturday this week. There is information that the train leaves the city at 7.15 pm and reaches Bengaluru at 4.45 am. The railway activists have requested the railways to change the time the train begins its onward journey from the city to 9.00 pm so that it reaches Bengaluru in the morning.

Sources say that MP Nalin Kumar Kateel had urged the railway minister and the officials of the department to resume train services on the said route.
