Kundapur: Abduction of teacher - court grants bail to accused

Kundapur, Dec 3: The court has granted bail to the main accused relating to a case of abduction of the headmaster of the government school at Kalghatgi. The abducted teacher reportedly had been confined within the limits of Kota police station, pending payment of ransom.

Accused in the case, Guru, Lava, and Sudarshan succeeded in getting bail. Reportedly, headmaster Srikanth Jalisatagi had been kidnapped from Kalghatgi in Dharwad district relating to financial dispute. A police team from Kalghatgi which got information that the missing headmaster had been kept at a spot in Kota had conducted a joint operation with the Kota police. The team had succeeded in arresting the accused and rescuing the headmaster.

Lethal weapons were found from the arrested accused. The accused had approached the first class judicial magistrate's court at Kalghatgi seeking bail. Advocates from Kundapur, Shyamasundar Nairy and Neil Bryan Pereira had argued the case on behalf of the accused.
