Bengaluru, Dec 5: If you have violated traffic rules in any way, the best option you now have to avoid future troubles is to pay the fine. Because, vehicles against which fine payments are due, may just disappear from the spots where you parked them.

Such a warning has been sounded by the transport department. The department says that in the form of fine, there is a total of Rs 329 crore outstanding by way of fine which it was to receive between 2017 and 2020. The officials now want to crack down on those who have overlooked the need to pay a fine.

The transport department staff keep an eye on vehicles and in case of vehicles with huge pending fine, the vehicle will be seized from wherever it was parked, without the knowledge of the owners.

Violators may feel that they have escaped from the watchful eyes of the policemen when violating rules. But the violation could have been recorded on CCTV cameras or the police personnel would have recorded the violation on mobile phones. After the vehicles are seized, notices are served at your home with an advice to pay fine. People can verify the fines outstanding against their names by visiting the site, http://bangaloretrafficpolice.gov.in/default.aspx. The same can be searched by using the vehicle number too.
