Bengaluru, Dec 5: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) with a broom (porake) as its electoral symbol, which has been trying to get a foothold in Bengaluru, is launching a novel campaign, 'Gorake Saaku, Porake Beku', in the city to draw attention to the failures and scams of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and chief minister B S Yediyurappa’s BJP-ruled state government on Sunday.

AAP’s Bengaluru president, Mohan Dasari said the party volunteers will conduct a door-to-door walkathon campaign, 'Gorake saaku, porake beku', on Sunday December 6 at 10.30 am and inform people about the failures and scams of BBMP and BJP-led state government.

Addressing a press conference, he said BBMP and BJP government is looting people.

While porake or broom is the electoral symbol of AAP and is commonly used to sweep the dust away, gorake or yawning is indicative of laziness and lethargy. The campaign 'Gorake Saaku, Porake Beku' is symbolic to suggest enough of BJP and preference for AAP.

"BJP government has made the lives of people difficult and has increased the rates of all basic amenities like the electricity rates, water bills, parking fee, garbage cess, property tax," he said.

AAP volunteers will inform about all these failures in their door to door campaign.

Along with this, they will also inform about the Delhi model of Arvind Kejriwal-led state government, Dasari said.

AAP-led Delhi government provides free electricity, international quality free education, free health service, free transportation to women in buses and many more pro-citizen policies.

Aam Aadmi Party has been staging protests for the problems of common citizens and will be taking this to an even higher level.

Head of political activities for Bengaluru, Phaniraj S V said the walkathon campaign will start from Modi hospital, near Navrang Circle in Rajajinagar assembly on Sunday at 10.30 am and terminate at Sanegoravanahalli Netaji Park and will be followed by door to door campaign.

AAP state convener, Prithvi Reddy will lead this campaign. Bengaluru president, Mohan Dasari, Rajajinagar assembly president Gurumurthy, Manjunath Nagar ward president Balakrishna and volunteers will participate in the campaign.
