Udupi: Lure of additional profit - Fraudster cheats man Rs 4.5 lac

Udupi, Dec 6: A case of cheating to the extent of Rs 4.5 lac by promising additional profit is registered in the Malpe police station near here.

Naveen Purushotham Acharya (45), a resident of Kannarpadi is the accused. He is alleged to have cheated Niranjan, a resident of Nandikoor near Padubidri to the tune of Rs 4.5 lac. In addition, Naveen is also alleged to have received Rs 1 lac from complainant Niranjan's mother, Rs 2 lac each from Shrikara G R, Raghuram, Geetha Rao, Rs 4 lac from Shankar Rao and Rs 2.30 lac from Raghavendra Pejathaya, into his account.

The accused did not pay the profit share of the money given to him as per the complainant. In total, it is alleged in the complaint that the accused has cheated more than Rs 4.5 lac to the complainant.
